Life story

William Thomas Crump was born in Thanet St. Peters, Kent, January 1851, he was baptised on 5th February 1851. His parents were, John Crump, 51yrs, Gardener, and Maria, 45yrs, nee Norton, William was the eleventh of their twelve children.

In July 1879, aged 28yrs, William married Louisa Ann Dale, 19yrs, in Camberwell, London, he was a commercial traveller in the confectionery trade, and during their marriage they moved from West Ham, Essex to Hastings, Sussex, back to London, and then finally to Worthing, Sussex. William and Louisa had 4 children, William John b.1881, Dorothy b.1882, Gertrude b.1886, and Gladys b.1890.

Their retirement to Worthing took place after 1911, they lived at Kenilworth, Browning Road, where William died on 5th August 1917, aged 66yrs. Probate was granted to his widow, Louisa Ann Crump, effects £474 7s 8d. Value 2021 - £33K.
