Olive Ashwell was born on 22nd July 1884, she was baptised at St. James Norlands, Kensington, on 23rd August 1884. Her father was Albert (Berto) Henry Ashwell, 28yrs, Clergyman, and her mother, Eliza Blow, nee Glover, 26yrs. She was their first child and later had 3 siblings, Kathleen, 1886, Albert, 1887, and Percy, 1889. In 1900 her brother, Albert, died, aged 12yrs, and in 1902, her sister, Kathleen, died, aged 16yrs.
Olive lived with her parents, moving parishes from Jersey, C.I. to Hamphire, Winchester and Chester. Her father died in 1921 and Olive, her mother and brother, Percy, moved to Worthing. When her mother, Eliza Blow Ashwell, died in 1930, at Salisbury House, Salisbury Rd. Worthing, she left her estate of £6291 3s 2d -value 2020 - £413K. to Olive and Percy.
Percy and Olive were both living at 54, Richmond Road, Worthing when the 1939 Register was taken. They were both listed as Single and Percy was a Market Gardener and Olive unpaid domestic duties.
Olive Ashwell died on 12th July 1960, aged 75yrs. Her address was 27, Salisbury Road, Worthing, probate was granted to Catherine Miles, single woman, and Richard Campbell, schoolmaster. Effects £18801 10s 10d. Value 2020 - £435K.
