Life story

Marion Mitchell was born in Sussex, she was baptised at Bosham, Sussex, on 11th January 1852, she was one of eleven children born to the Reverend Henry Mitchell, 32yrs, Vicar of Bosham, and Charlotte, 26yrs, nee Gibbs.

Marion was close to her eldest sister, Katherine, and to her youngest sister, Ella, all three sisters remained single, and Marion and Ella lived with their parents, in Bosham, until their deaths shortly after the turn of the century. At some point Ella, Katharine and Marion moved to Worthing where they lived at Cissbury, Harrow Road; Marion died on 2nd April 1933, aged 81yrs.

Probate was granted to Rev. Canon Alfred Hunter Cheesman, Clerk, and Leslie Beckett Sherrin, Gentleman, effects £2705 17s 3d. Value 2021 - £198K.
