Life story

Louisa Ellen Green was born in 1875 in Nutbourne, Pulborough, Sussex, to William and Ellen S. Green. In 1881 when Louisa was 6yrs old, her parents were employed at Thakeham Place, W. Chiltington, as Groom and Housemaid but Louisa did not appear on the census. When she was 16yrs old, Louisa was employed as General Domestic Servant to the Goodall family who lived at 172, Rowlands Road, Worthing, her employer, George Goodall was a Coal Merchant. In 1901 Louisa, 24yrs, was living with her parents at 7, The Drive, Heene, Worthing. Her father, William, 42yrs, was a Carman - Hire Carters, her mother, Ellen was 49yrs. Louisa Ellen Green died on 31st December 1901, aged 26yrs, at 8, The Drive, Elm Grove, Heene. Her death certificate gave the cause of death as "Enteric Fever, 15 days, Pneumonia, 3days."
