She was the daughter of John Joseph Jolly Kyle, a Professor of Chemistry. She married George Potts Wight, a civil servant in the War Office, in June 1892 and Katherine was born on 21 March 1893 in St Pancras, London. At the age of 10 Katherine went to the North London Collegiate School, an independent day school for girls founded in 1850 in Camden by Frances Mary Buss, now in Edgware. In 1911 she was living at 5, Bath Road, Worthing, with relatives and died in January the following year at Southlands, Heath Road, Haywards Heath, of pulmonary tuberculosis with her father present. She was 18.
