Life story

Frederic Edward Wright was born in Chichester, Sussex, in 1862, he was the son of Arthur J. Wright, 29yrs, a wine and spirit merchant, and Elizabeth Ann, 29yrs, nee Stick. He had 3 siblings, Arthur b.1858, Ada b.1864, and Reginald b.1866.

At 18yrs Frederic was a brewer's pupil, but he changed career to accountancy, becoming an incorporated accountant in his 30s.

On 20th August 1892 Frederic, 30yrs, married Annie Atwood Frere, 26yrs, (born Goring) at St. Mary the Virgin, Twickenham, Surrey. In 1893 their first daughter, Josephine Monica, died shortly after birth, but they had 4 further children, Frederick Arthur b.1894, Winifred Edith b.1895, Elizabeth May b.1900, and Christabel Cassie b. 1907.

They lived in Beddington, Surrey, for several years, (1901 census), before moving to Billingshurst, Sussex, (1911 census). Shortly after 1911 they moved to Worthing, Sussex, where they lived at The Rowans, Belsize Road, and on 19th March 1913, Frederic died, aged 50yrs. Probate was granted to his widow, Annie Atwood Wright, effects £1039 14s 8d. Value 2022 - £127,700.
