Life story

Life story

Frank was born in Bow, Middlesex, the son of George Thomas and Emma nee Barber. By 1891, the family were living in Limehouse where George was a leather seller and ironmonger. As a young man, Frank worked for Stepney Council. By 1921, Frank and his parents had moved to Reigate in Surrey, living in Park Lane. Here, he met Ethel Pearl Peachey who lived two doors away with her parents. They married at St Luke's church, South Park, Reigate on 21 September 1922. The couple moved to Coulsdon, living at 42 Downs Road. They had no children. They moved to Worthing in 1938, where Frank worked for the local council as a municipal officer and committee clerk. Frank and Ethel lived at 20 Robson Road, Goring and then as war broke out, moved to "Furnley" in Shaftesbury Avenue, Goring. After the war, the couple moved to "Berrylands" in Marlborough Road, Goring. By 1948, they had moved again, this time to Lincoln Lodge flatlets in Manor Road. Frank died at 60 Manor Road, Worthing on 29 August 1965. He was cremated and his ashes interred at Heene. No probate.

Ethel lived on at 60 Manor Road and died in January 1968.
