Life story

Life story

Fanny was christened on 3 April 1846 at St Nicholas, Plumstead, Kent. She was the oldest daughter of  Rev. George Yatman Boddy BA MA, who was a former Senior Mathematical Master at the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, and Vicar of Colegate from 1872 until 1890.  Fanny's mother was the daughter of Edward Riddle, Master of the Nautical School, Greenwich.  Fanny's earliest memories must have been of Woolwich. Later, the family moved to the Vicarage at Colegate and when George retired they lived at Elmslie Villa, South Street, West Tarring for many years. Fanny's last address was 23, Shakespeare Road, Worthing, but she died at Groombridge Nursing Home, Chaucer Road, Worthing, on 5 November 1926.
