Charlotte lived with the family in London until she married James Haddock, a bookseller and stationer, on 28 July 1870 at Brixton, Surrey, and they moved to Ipswich in Suffolk.

When James retired they lived in Buxton in Derbyshire. James died in 1894 and the 1901 Census could not be found.

When Charlotte died on 30 May 1907 her home was at Rayleigh Mount, in Winchester Road, Worthing. Her considerable effects of £15, 107 19s 2d were left to be administrated by Henry Miller, a civil engineer, and William Pawsey, a mercantile clerk. Both these men seem to have a family connection.

In the 1871 Census James Haddock is shown as having step-children named Frederick Pawsey, 26, and Ellen Pawsey, 29, and maria Sweeting's maiden name was Miller.
