Life story

Charles Ernest Dolding was born in Battersea, London, in 1887. His parents were Richard Arthur Dolding, 42yrs, and Sarah Louise nee Bowers, 39yrs, his father was a Commercial Traveller for a Tea Merchant. He was one of 6 children: Herbert b.1879, Percy b.1881, Florence b.1884, Charles b.1887, Nessie b.1892, and Sidney b.1896. His family moved to Worthing, and when Charles was 5yrs old, he was living with his parents and 2 siblings, Percy, 11yrs, and Florence, 7yrs, at Northcote, Richmond Road. His sister, Nessie, was born in 1892. Charles died, aged 8yrs, on 18th December 1895 in Worthing. His death certificate gave the cause of death as Diphtheria 28 days, Pulmonary Cardiac Paralysis.
