The members of this family are collectively known as the coral fungi because of their resemblance to the growths of aquatic coral.

C. White Coral (Ramariopsis kunzei)

The branched structure of the fruiting body resembles marine coral. The stem is short and rudimentary. The branches sometimes show yellowish tips with age.
