B. Mallows (Malvaceae)
The plants of the mallow family have downy or hairy stems with palmately lobed leaves, and often colourful 5-petalled flowers. Okra, cotton, cacao, and hibiscus are among its commercially important plants. The confection marshmallow is no longer made from the roots of the Marsh Mallow.
C. Tree Mallow (Lavatera arborea)
Flowering from April until September along maritime edges this native plant has pink-purple flowers with purple veins and gives a colourful edge to many local greenswards.
