The only member of this familiar family in the cemetery is a garden escape. Native bellflowers may be seen on the Downs, especially those of the chalk turf.

C. Trailing Bellflower (Campanula poscharskyana)

This species is a rapidly spreading creeping cultivar, common in Worthing gardens. It commonly flowers in June and is tolerated for the attractive blue carpet created.
