A. Fungi
More extensive information on fungi can be found in a separate blog post.
B. Gilled Mushrooms (AMANITACEAE)
This is a very large family of mainly woodland mushrooms, which emerge from a veiled egg-like structure whose remnants can be seen on the cap, at the base of the stem, and as a ‘collar’ on the stem.
C. The Blusher (Amanita rubescens)
This species has a ‘warty’ yellow-brown cap, and it derives its name from the fact that the flesh turns pink when bruised.
