B. Gilled Mushrooms (STROPHARIACEAE)
These brownish-gilled mushrooms are saprotrophs, growing on decaying organic matter.
C. Sulphur Tuft (Hypholoma fasciculare)
This widespread fungus grows in clusters on tree stumps, dead branches, and the buried roots of broad-leaved trees and conifers. The cap is sulphur yellow paling towards the edge, ageing to yellowish brown. The stem darkens towards the base.
