Tortrix moths or Leafroller moths have more than 11,000 member species described. These moths are generally small with wingspans of less than 3 centimetres.

C. Regal Piercer (Pammene regiana)

The Regal Piercer moth is a small moth with a wingspan of between 13 and 16 millimetres. It is generally richly brown, having a notable blotch of cream or pale-yellow on its back.

These moths fly between May and July, and sometimes later in the summer. They are seen from late afternoon into the night.

Larvae feed inside the seeds of Sycamore.
