Grass-miner moths have luxuriantly-feathered hindwings. They are found worldwide, although not in very cold regions. There may be as many as 3,000 little moths in this family.

C. Red-brindled Dwarf (Elachista rufocinerea)

This pale white-grey grass moth has red, buff or grey speckles and is about 3mm long. It can be found throughout the British Isles, and is classed as common. It feeds on a range of grasses.

In April 2022, small clouds of them gathered at ankle height in late afternoon sun.
