B. Asters (ASTERACEAE or COMPOSITAE)

This is one of the largest worldwide flowering plant families and is well represented in the UK. The name Compositae refers to the clustering of the flowers (called florets) into compact heads, so that an entire cluster represents a single 'flower'. They also have one-seeded fruits called achenes.

C. Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium)

This is a long-established species in the UK, aromatic with daisy-like flowers, from June, in an umbel-like cluster. It has proven medicinal properties. The leaves or a tincture relieve headaches, arthritic pain, hayfever and breathlessness, menstrual tension, sinus pain, and endometriosis. The tincture also relieves the pain of insect bites.
