Nectriaceae fungi are a diverse group of perhaps 1,300 species that take the form of spots on dead wood.
C. Coral Spot (Nectria cinnabarina)
The pustules of Coral Spot appear in colonies on the surface of dead deciduous branches in autumn, each pustule measuring about 2 millimetres across. They are widespread in Britain.
