A. Flowering Plants
More extensive information on flowering plants can be found in a separate blog post.
B. Legumes (FABACEAE or LEGUMINOSAE)
Legume seedpod crops are commercially very important for human consumption, livestock forage, silage, and nitrogen-rich 'green manure'.
C. Common Bird's-foot-trefoil (Lotus corniculatus)
This native plant flowers from May, and the straight fruit pods resemble a bird's foot. The plant was carried by schoolchildren in the belief that it would protect them from punishment.
