Our volunteers freely give their time, so why do we need financial help to keep maintaining the cemetery?

  • Running events in and for the local community

  • Purchase and renewal of tools and equipment
  • Professional wildlife surveys, such as of plants, fungi, and butterflies

Heene Road Cemetery is a local treasure that supports a host of wildlife and flora. There is also a wealth of history, war graves, graves of local families and much more. The cemetery is informally open at various times but also has open days and the occasional musical events. A small group of volunteers makes all this happen. As with all things these days, there is also always a need for funds. Not everyone can volunteer but to become a supporter of this unique space and make sure it remains a local haven it is possible by paying a subscription of £12 per annum to make a valuable contribution.
