Life story

Life story

William was the only son of John Wiley of Cork. He was born at Monkstown, Co. Dublin in 1815 and became a barrister-at-law. Eventually, he was the Principal Registrar at H.M Court of Probate in Ireland. William married Margaret Matilda Ormsby in 1835 and they had 13 children John (1837-1890 ); Matilda (1838-1914); Charles Ormsby (1839-1915); William (1841-1886); Anne (1841-1915); Sarah (1842-1916); Arthur Ormsby (1844-1904); Frances Ellen (1849-1900); Mary Elizabeth (1852-1969); Albert; Henry; Mary D and Thomas. His business address was 14, Longford Terrace, Monkstown. By the 1881 Census William was a widower living in Broadwater with his eldest son and a daughter, Sarah. He died on 17 April 1886.
