William Hunt was born in 1839 in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, he was the son of John Hunt, 30yrs, and Elizabeth Anderson, 30yrs, nee Knight. William had 3 siblings, Elizabeth b. 1837, Fanny b. 1843, and James, b. 1847.

In 1865, William was working as a Miller in Chingford, Essex, and on 9th September 1865 he married Harriet Jenkinson, 22yrs, at the Parish Church, Hackney, Middlesex. They had 2 daughters, Jessie, b. 1868, and Elizabeth, b. 1871. William became a successful Miller, employing 30 men in 1881 and in 1891 he was living in Leyton, Essex, with his family. When William retired, they moved to Worthing, Sussex, where William and Harriet lived at Eyncourt, Shelley Road, with their unmarried daughters.

William died, aged 68yrs, on 7th July 1907, probate was granted to Harriet Hunt, widow, and Jessie and Elizabeth Hunt, spinsters. Effects £2685 11s 2d. Value 2021 – £340K.

Also of Harriet widow of the above who entered into rest 14th August 1932 in her 92nd year "Wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God for He hath prepared for them a city" Hebrews Xl.16. In memoriam Elizabeth younger daughter of William and Harriet Hunt passed onward 8th February 1960 aged 88 years. In memoriam Jessie eldest daughter of William and Harriet Hunt passed onward 19th June 1944 aged 74 years "His servants shall serve Him"
