Life story

Life story

William was born in Bradfield, Essex, the son of William and Sarah. His father was a miller. William grew up in Bradfield but moved to London as a young man, working as a coachman. On 30th June 1870, he married Serringar Rowling Daniels at St James Church, Islington. Serringar was known as Selina. Their son William Joseph was born the following year in Camden. The couple had two more children, the youngest Edith Sarah was born in Reigate in 1887. William was in Worthing in December 1900, when he was taken ill with enteric fever. He died on 21st December at Belsize Stables in Belsize Road. His son William Joseph was with him when he died. Selina was living at 3 Eriswell Road with Edith, working as a lodging house keeper. She later moved to her father's house in Heathfield and died in 1927.
