Obituary

Worthing Gazette 4th March 1925

“Death of Mr W J Ford”

The death occurred in a nursing home on Sunday, of meningitis, at the age of 48, of Mr William James Ford of Domus, Heene Road. Mr Ford was a civil engineer who had spent the greater part of his life in Central India in the Indore State Service and he retired something like a year ago. He had been ailing for some time but his condition had not appeared to be such as to give rise to any alarm until quite recently. He leaves a widow and four children. One of his daughters was married at Heene Church only a few weeks ago. The funeral is taking place at Heene this (Wednesday) afternoon. Deceased was a son of Mr G F Ford of Fernlea, St Michael’s Road, who was for many years in Government service in India, stationed at Indore, and who has been resident in Worthing for about four years. Father and son were members of the Bowling Club.
