Life story

Life story

William was born in Pimlico London, the son of Edward (a Bricklayer) and Elizabeth. In 1891 William was boarding in Crewe Cheshire and was working as a Joiner. He married Amy Jane Crane on the 13th August 1896 at the Holy Trinity Church, Shrewsbury. William was living at 19 Wood Street Shrewsbury Shropshire at the time. Unfortunately Amy died in 1899 in Atcham Shropshire. There are no record of any children being born. William lived with his Brother Charles and his wife Maria in 1901, and they were living at 2 Newhouses, Ellesmere Road, Shrewsbury Shropshire. Charles had his own building business but the census shows that William was also a builder employer, so maybe Charles and William had a joint business together. William's parents moved to Worthing between 1901 and 1911, their single Daughter Elizabeth moved with them, also did their Daughter Margaret Colville and her 2 children, Margaret is shown to be a Widow. They lived at Bramlyne, Rowlands Road. William died on 26th June 1909 in the London Hospital of a Diabetes Mellitus Coma. The informant of the death was his sister Margaret who lived at Trenance, Rugby Road, West Worthing. He was living at 'Buenos Ayres' Valencia Road Worthing and was working as a Joiner.
