The Death of Mr W A G Constable
Formerly in business as a baker and confectioner, Thorn Road Worthing for many years, Mr W A G Constable, Sussex House, Rowlands Road, Worthing died in the Royal Sussex County Hospital at the age of 56 after an illness of about a fortnight. Mr Constable was born at Roffey, Horsham but had lived here practically all his life. As a boy he sang in Heene church choir and for some years he was a prominent member of the old Worthing Amateur Operatic Society. In his younger days he was something of an athlete winning several prizes for walking and swimming. He gave up business in Thorn Road about 10 years ago and for the past nine years he had been local agent for the Hearts of Oak Society. He leaves a daughter Miss Kathleen Constable who was formerly an active member of the Worthing Branch of the Imperial League and Cub Master of the St Matthew's Cubs and a son Mr John Warden Constable a former member of the literary staff of the Worthing Gazette and now on the Doncaster Gazette. The funeral is taking place tomorrow at 3.30 Heene, the service in Church preceding the interment in Heene cemetery where Mrs Constable was buried 23 years ago.

"Buried at Heene" Funeral of Mr W A G Constable
The funeral took place at Heene Cemetery on Thursday of Mr W A G Constable of Sussex House, Rowlands Road, Worthing whose death was reported in the last issue of the "Gazette". Mr Constable came of a well known Balcombe family. The interment was preceded by a service at St Botolph's church, conducted by the Rev. L Richardson who also officiated at the graveside. The chief mourners were Mr J W Constable (son), Miss Kathleen Constable (daughter), Mrs Hamblin, Mr & Mrs Parton (sister and brother-in-law) Mrs K Constable (sister-in-law), Mrs Garner and Mrs Elsey (aunts), Mrs Constable (stepmother), Mrs Rush 9cousin), and Mr L Constable (nephew). Others present included Mrs Miller, Mr Hodgson (representing the Hearts of Oak Society), Mr Mason and Mr Cawley.
