Story

William was born in Portslade, the son of Edward George and Mary Ann. His father was a gas stoker. By 1911, William, his brother Henry and sister Winifred were living at 22 Elm Grove, Worthing. Their mother now a widow moved into 41The Drive in 1914. William was a haemophiliac and would have worked when he could as a carter. By 1916, William was living with his mother in The Drive. It was here that he died on 1st January 1916 after suffering from haemophilia for six months. His sister Winifred was with him when he died.
