He was baptised at St Paul's church, East Molesey on 2nd May 1869. George was a commercial clerk dealing in corn. The family lived in Greenwich until about 1897 when due to Emily's failing health, the family moved to Worthing. George bought Chappell Croft, a large house in Mill Road. Thomas and his brother George Walter stayed with their parents until George Walter married Agnes Beckles in 1912 after his mother had died. The family were wealthy and Thomas was able to devote a lot of time to charity work. According to the local papers, he had a fine baritone voice and would often sing at concerts in aid of local charities. After his mother's death, Thomas lived with his father at Chappell Croft until George Snr died in 1915. Both parents were buried at Heene. During the First World War, Thomas offered Chappell Croft as a hospital for the duration of the war. He moved to "Corvill" a house in Shelley Road (later replaced by flats). Thomas lived here until 1930 when he moved to "Home" 6 Longfellow Road, Worthing. Thomas died on 16th August 1934. Probate was granted on 10th September to Hugh Mutlow Williams antique dealer and Arthur Leslie Ferriman solicitor.
