Story

Thomas was born in St Pancras, the son of Ralph and Elizabeth. He was baptised at the Old Church, St Pancras on 7 Apr 1837. Ralph was a brickmaker. Thomas was one of eleven children. He started his employment as a clerk to a ship and insurance brokers.
In 1868, Thomas married Kate (Kitty) Price in Leicester. The couple moved to London where Thomas worked as a ship broker. When he retired, Thomas and Kitty moved to Worthing, living at Manor Villa in Manor Road. Kitty died in 1916 and Thomas moved to “Lothbury” in Gordon Road.
Thomas died on 16 Mar 1920.
Probate was granted on 11 Jun to Alfred Sidney Swan printer’s manager (brother-in-law). Effects £1257 18s 1d (approx. £36K in 2020).
