Life story

Life story

Susannah Penelope Barnes was born in Southwark, London to Robert Barnes and Mary Ann Turnbull on 28th December, 1833. Mary had a brother Robert, born in 1828.

Susannah married grocer, William Solomon and had four children: William John, John Robert, Maria Mary and Anne Susannah. William died in 1898.

In 1901 Susannah lived in 3 Heene Cottages, Heene, Worthing as a boarder, alongside her married daughter, Maria Mary Ostler in a house owned by John Mash.

Sussanah died at Heene in April 1904 and was buried in Heene Cemetery, West Worthing on 4th April 1904 in a service officiated by Harold Lascelles.
