Life story

Life story

Selena (Lena) was born in Bayswater, the daughter of James and Emma. Her father was a provisions merchant. As a young girl, Lena studied sculpture but by 1901 had changed to a nursing career working in Rotherhithe. On 16th November 1908, Lena married Edward Rowland Moore a builder, in Trowbridge. She was Matron at the local isolation hospital. The couple lived in Trowbridge until Edward retired and they then moved to Worthing, settling in Ripley Road. Edward died in 1941. By her death on 5th December 1952, Lena was living at 8 Milton Street, Worthing. Probate was granted on 27th March 1953 to Jessie Miriam Turner spinster. Effects £2725 6s 5d.
