Life story

Life story

Sarah was born in 1836 in Witney Oxfordshire to Samuel and Elizabeth Eeles.  Samuel worked as a Farmer and Currier, meaning he prepared and proccessed leather hides for sale.   Samuel died in 1847 leaving the family quite penniless.  So Sarah found a job as a servant for Jane Williams, a Farmer in 1861, in Llansanffraid, Breconshire, Wales. By 1871 she is back in Surrey working as a Nurse to Adam Wilson.

Sarah married Frederick Joseph Timms on 10th October 1891 at St George, Hanover Square, London. Frederick was a widower and already had 9 children from his previous marriage to Louise Timms.

After Frederick retired he moved to Worthing with his Wife Sarah and Florence Mary his Daughter. They are living at Talybont Shakespeare Road, Worthing.

Frederick died on 23rd August 1920 and left £6554 15s (£190,440 in 2020)  with probate to William Beresford Smith and Charles Edward Peckover. Sarah died in 1926, at Salisbury Lodge, Queens Road, Worthing. She left £4656 3s 8d (£191,000 in 2020) with probate to Charles Edward Peckover.
