Sarah Lock was the widow of innkeeper John Lock of Hove. She had a son S Bowes of Heene from a previous marriage. She died in the Infirmary Worthing on 29th December 1881 of gangrene of teguments of her left leg.
Sarah was buried in Heene Cemetery on 2nd January, 1882.
