In loving memory of Sarah Maria Jackson (Minnie) born 6th December 1860 died 21st December 1927. Also her sister Grace Caroline Jackson died 25th January 1936 aged 76 and of their sister Ada Jane Jackson died Jan. 10th 1953 aged 89.

Life story

Sarah Maria Jackson, known as Minnie, was born on 6th December 1860 in Southwark, London, to Thomas Stennett Jackson, 51yrs, and Caroline, 37yrs, nee Cupit, she was 1 of 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls. Thomas was a Varnish and Colour Maker.

Sarah never married and lived with her parents in Lambeth, she remained with her widowed mother after her father died in 1889 until her death in 1895. Her father had been a successful tradesman, leaving the family over £500,000 2022 value, and Alfred and his brothers had inherited the varnishing business.  Sarah lived with her brother, Alfred and sisters, Ada and Grace in Croydon until Alfred's death in 1918, when the 3 sisters moved to Worthing, living at 58, Heene Road.

Sarah Maria Jackson, spinster, died, aged 67yrs, on 21st December 1927 at Worthing. Probate was granted to William James Foster, Gentleman, effects £2294 6s. Value 2022 - £160,000.
