Life story

Life story

Robert was born in Enfield, Middlesex, the son of Cyril Arthur and Emmeline Renee. He was baptised at St Andrew's Church, Enfield on 12th August 1910. His father was a builder and architect. Robert grew up in Enfield and was known as "Roy". He had two sisters, Evelyn born in 1913 and Thelma born in 1914. The family had moved to Worthing by 1924, living at 13 Heene Terrace. Robert died on 16th June 1926 at Groombridge Nursing Home in Chaucer Road. He was suffering from cellulitis of the face which developed into septicaemia. His parents later moved to Wallace Avenue living firstly at no. 88 and then no.104. Cyril died in London in 1955. Emmeline was still living at 104 Wallace Avenue in 1968.
