Mary Elizabeth Robertson 1856 - 1929

Mary Elizabeth Cooper was born in 1856 to farm labourer, George Cooper and his wife Elizabeth Maria Langston in Ellesborough, Buckinghamshire. She had five siblings: Caroline, William, Ann, Edwin and Elizabeth.

In 1871 at the tender age of 15, Mary was a kitchenmaid in the home of the Rector of Ellesborough. By 1881, Mary was in Putney Hill, as a parlourmaid to a retired clerk, William H Hyde.

Mary married Policeman, William Proctor Robertson on 13th October 1885 at Gunnersbury, Turnham Green, Middlesex. They had four children: Ethel Gladys Robinson, Mary Grace Gwendoline Robinson, Elizabeth Hyacinth Elfreda Robinson and Constance Clementine Robinson.
