Mary Ann Massey was born on 10th January 1863, she was baptised on 19th April, at Stebbing, Essex. Her parents were, John Bailey Massey, 43yrs, Farmer, and Catherine, 23yrs, nee Armstrong; she was the eldest of 4 children, her siblings were, Joseph Bostock b.1865, John William b.1866, and Catherine b.1869.

Mary Ann never married and did not appear to have any occupation, she lived with her parents throughout her life, moving to Worthing with her widowed mother c1901. She continued living in Worthing after the death of her mother in 1905, and on 4th January 1942, aged 79yrs, Mary Ann died at Birklands, Heene Road. Probate was granted to her sister, Katherine Rosetta Massey, spinster, effects £14519 12s 6d. Value 2021 - £701K.
