Marjorie was the youngest daughter of Rev. Louis George Pett Liesching and his wife Maude Eldridge Liesching. She was born in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and was confirmed in England on 20th March 1907 at All Saint's church, Eastbourne. She was a member of the Church Missionary Society and never married.
She devoted her life to missionary work, mainly in Egypt, although when she sailed from Southampton aboard the Union Castle steamship "Kenilworth Castle" on 5th November 1920 bound for Cape Town, she was described as a nurse.
In 1911 and 1921, Marjorie lived with her family in Winslow, Buckinghamshire. She lived at various addresses when she returned to England from Egypt. In 1935, her address was c/o 33 Surrey Street, The Strand, London; in 1945 it was 16 St Phillipa's Road, Surbiton, Surrey and in 1946, CES Building, 6 Salisbury Square, London EC4. She finally settled in Worthing at Flat 3, 79 Rowlands Road. Marjorie died on 13th May 1953 at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, 4 St Pancras Way, London. She left £7364 6s to be administered by her sister Marie Grace Liesching and William James Eldridge OBE, solicitor. The funeral service was held at St Paul's church, Worthing and interment of her ashes took place at Heene Cemetery on Friday, 22nd May at 2.30pm. The flowers were sent to Poland's in Montague Street. Marjorie's sister Daisy is also buried at Heene. She was training to be a missionary when she died of tuberculosis in 1914.
