Story
Marian was born in Little Bowden, Northamptonshire, the daughter of George and Elizabeth. Her father was a solicitor. Together with her sisters Caroline and Edith, she spent most of her life with her father until his death in 1921. By 1871, the family were living in Marylebone. After Elizabeth’s death in 1907, the three sisters continued to manage the house for their father. After his death in 1921, they moved to 21 Dean’s Yard, Westminster. Marian and Edith visited Western Australia in 1923. From 1926 until 1938, the sisters lived at 59 Alexandra Road, Hampstead. Caroline died at “Caer Gwent” in Wykeham Road, Worthing in 1927. Marian and Edith moved to Worthing in 1939, living at 24 St Botolph’s Road. Edith died in 1939. Marian died on 13th June 1942. Probate was granted on 25th July to Algernon Fisher member of London Stock Exchange. Effects £1896 12s.
The sister’s niece Marjorie Knapp-Fisher was a missionary in South Africa. Her home was in Forest Road, Worthing. She died in 1961. Another relative was Edward Knapp-Fisher, who was Bishop of Pretoria.
