Her father worked for the East India Company. Margery was baptised in Rangoon on 22 Sep. The family returned to England the following year. Melita died in Anerley, Surrey on 19 Feb 1885. In 1888, John married Mary Fox Dugdale. In 1901, Margery and her father sailed for New Zealand on 1 Jan. They returned in May on board "The Runutaka". Margery trained with the Norland Institute famous for its training of nursery nurses. She divided her time living with her sister Dora and living with her family in Glasgow at 260 West George Street. By 1914 she was ill and was a patient in a nursing home at 52 Lee Terrace, Blackheath. Margery died of tubercular disease of the kidney and uraemia at "Caer Gwent" Wykeham Road, Worthing" Probate sealed in London 10th April 1915. Confirmation of Kenneth Alexander Borland writer. Confirmation granted at Edinburgh 3rd April 1915 to Kenneth Alexander Borland writer, Glasgow, executor nominated in will dated 31st May 1914.
