Mabel was the daughter of William Wenban Smith and his wife Elizabeth. Her mother suffering from TB died on 26th May and may have died giving birth to Mabel. Sadly the little girl did not survive for very long and died aged 2 months on 18th July. She was buried at Heene in the family grave .
