Lucy was born in Bloomsbury. Her Mother, Lucy, was a Laundress, living in Hackney in 1861, and widowed. Her father, John Lewington, was named on her baptism certificate, but mother Lucy's employment was shown.
Francis was born in Melbourne Port, Somerset, son of James and Eliza Chislett. Father James was a Land Agent in Milborne Port. The family Francis was one of 7 children were living in Wimborne, Dorset in 1841 and 1851.
By 1861 Francis was living in Marylebone, Assistant to a Doctor Scott, and Dispenser of Medicine.
Francis and Lucy were married, in Shoreditch, in 1867. They were to have no children.
In 1871, in Shoreditch, were Francis, Chemist and Druggist, Lucy, John Lavington, Brother-in-Law and Apprentice to Francis.
By 1881, still in Shoreditch. Francis MRCS, English, General Practitioner. (He trained at the London Hospital).They had a 28 year-old Medical Student as a Lodger.
They were living in Stamford Hill in 1891. Lucy Sanders, Lucy's 7 year-old niece, was visiting. They also had a Boarder and one Servant.
By 1901 Francis was a Retired Surgeon, and they were living in Stoke Newington. On the census form Francis was described as Blind. Lucy's niece, Lucy Sanders was still with them
When Lucy died, in 1908, the couple were living at Kingswood, St Botolph's Road. (This is almost certainly the site of a Residential Rest Home today.)
