Life story

Life story

Louise Charlton was born in Sculcoates, Yorkshire, in April 1868. She was the daughter of Charles Henry Valentine Charlton, 38yrs, Traveller, and Annie Lavinia, 29yrs, nee Glover. Louise was 1 of 8 children.

In 1891 Louise was an assistant schoolmistress, she continued her career in education and remained unmarried. In 1922 Louise was residing at 3, Park Lane, Stamford, where she drew up her will, leaving her effects to her younger sister, Ethel, a nursing sister at Guildford, Surrey.

Louise then moved to Worthing, Sussex, living at Fairholme, Gannon Road. She died at Caer Gwent Nursing Home, Wykeham Road, on 10th February 1925, aged 57yrs. Probate was granted to Ethel Charlton, spinster, effects £530 1s 11d. Value 2022 - £34,300.
