Life story

Life story

Louisa was born in Tamworth, Staffordshire, the daughter of William and Elizabeth. She was baptised at Holy Trinity Church, West Bromwich on 6th February 1873. Her father was a jeweller. Louisa was one of five sisters of which only one, Martha married. William died in 1895 and the sisters may have gone abroad as none appear in the 1901 census. Louisa's sister Clara was living in Worthing by 1911. Another sister, Alice was living in Hove. By 1933, Louisa was living at 11 Surbiton Court in Surbiton, Surrey. She died there on 6th February 1933 and was buried beside Clara at Heene. Probate was granted on 15th June to Lloyds Bank Ltd and Dorothy Cayley (wife of Digby Edgar Cayley). Effects £12239 16s 11d. The other two sisters Eliza and Alice were living at 10 St Michael's Road, Worthing during the war. Alice died in 1944 and Eliza in 1945. They were both buried at Durrington Cemetery.
