Life story

Louisa Ann Dale was born in Camberwell, London, June qtr. 1859. She was the daughter of John Henry Dale, 30yrs, Piano Tuner, and Louisa Sophia, 30yrs, nee Wllingale; she had 2 siblings, Walter b.1856, and Miriam b.1861.

In July 1879, Louisa, 19yrs, married William Thomas Crump, 28yrs, in Camberwell, London, he was a commercial traveller in the confectionery trade, and during their marriage they moved from West Ham, Essex to Hastings, Sussex, back to London, and then finally to Worthing, Sussex. William and Louisa had 4 children, William John b.1881, Dorothy b.1882, Gertrude b.1886, and Gladys b.1890.

Their retirement to Worthing took place after 1911, they lived at Kenilworth, Browning Road, where William died on 5th August 1917, aged 66yrs. Louisa remained in Worthing, she lived at 64, St. Lawrence Road, where she died, aged 80yrs, on 28th July 1939. Probate was granted to Gladys Beatrice Crump, spinster, effects, £842 0s 7d. Value 2021 - £56K.
