Miscellaneous information

Northampton Mercury - 1st December 1893

Oundle - Special reference was made on Sunday evening last to the decease of Mr LB Calcott, in the Jesus Church. Mr Calcott's favourite hymn, "Onward, Christian Soldiers" was sung during the service. Obituary - It is with deep regret we announce the death, at Worthing, of Mr Lewis Berkeley Calcott, M.R.C.S., late of this town. The deceased was the third son of Mr GWB Calcott, surgeon, and, after a successful career as a student, passed with credit the final examinations. He joined his father as partner in the long-established practice of surgeons, and very soon became popular, especially with the working classes. His genial presence, kind and generous nature, and, above all, his patient and skilful attention, will be ever remembered by old and young. After a sad and painful affliction, he has passed away at the early age of 38, truly regretted by all who knew him.
