To the glory of God and in tender remembrance of Kate for 37 years the loving and beloved wife of Arthur S Day. Fell asleep 10th Feb 1916 "Redeemed with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. Hallelujah. Even now in the fight we can sing a new song boasting in Jesus the mighty law, but o for one shout of yon glorified throng. Hosanna to God for the blood of the Lamb"

Kate was born in 1858 in Henlow Bedfordshire, to Robert Thomas and Jane Ford.

Robert Thomas worked as a Parochial Schoolmaster at Church School, Monkton Combe, Bath, Somerset. 

Kate married Arthur Somerset Day on 3rd June 1879 at Swinford Oxford. There is no record of any children being born. 

Arthur worked for the Civil service as a 2nd class clerk for the India Office. The India Office was a British Government department established in London in 1858 to oversee the administration through a Viceroy and other officials, of the Provinces of India.  In 1881 Arthur and Kate are living at 3 Mayfield Road Wimbledon 

By 1911 they are living at 76 Comeragh Road, West Kensington London. Arthur had retired from the Civil service and is living on a pension. Sometime between 1911 and 1914 Arthur and Kate moved to Worthing and were living at Whyteleafe, Shakespeare Road Worthing Sussex. Kate died on the 10th February 1916 at Studley House, Shelley Road. Worthing, she left £270 (£15927 in 2020) to her Husband, Arthur Somerset Day
