Julia Hayward Dyason 1842 - 1923

Julia Hayward Dyason was born on 26th February, 1842 in Ramsgate, Kent. Her father was Isaac Dyason, a bath house owner, and her mother was Elizabeth Illenden Pearce. Julia's siblings were: Isaac, Frances, Elizabeth Parker, George, Roger Huggett, Frederick, Charles Herbert, Augusta Georgiana and Catherine Agnes.
Julia' father died in 1868 and in 1871 Julia was working as a lady's maid for clergyman, John Godding's family in Brighton, Sussex. In 1881 Julia was working at Teddesley House, Walsall as a governess. Julia met and married widower, James Travis Hampson, the owner of Hampson and Scott, a firm of Sadler's Ironmongers. They married in Broadwater, Worthing, Sussex on 21st August 1884. Julia was resident in Heene at the time of her marriage.
In 1891 they lived at Bramber House, Heene, Worthing with Elizabeth's mother, Elizabeth Dyason, visiting them. James died in 1904 and was buried at Heene. Julia lived until her death on 10th June 1923 at Nettlesworth, Hurstpierpoint, Sussex and was buried 3 days later at Heene. Probate was granted to her step-son-in-law, Frederick James Cotterell, manufacturer and James McAsey, bank official.
Julia's mother, Elizabeth Dyason and her siblings Edward Huggett Dyason and Charles Herbert Dyason are also buried at Heene.
