Life story

Life story

John was born in Pevensey, Sussex, the son of Griffith and Rebecca. He was baptised at Pevensey on 19th May 1805. The family were living in Worthing by 1848 when Griffith died. Rebecca and John lived in Ann Street before moving to Market Street. John worked as a shoemaker, living with his mother until her death in 1855. He then moved to Paragon Street. By 1871, John was living in Montague Street with another shoemaker, Richard Furness and his family. John died at the end of February 1875 and was buried at Heene on 3rd March. No probate.
